Catch a (free) polo match weekends this spring and summer at the Will Rogers polo field. Don't know what a chukker is? No need to know anything to enjoy a day of polo.
Just bring a picnic and relax while watching magnificent horses pound up and down the field right in front of you.
Matches are most weekends, on Saturdays and Sundays. Watching the matches is free, but there is a parking fee at Will Rogers State Park.
Between matches, the players will often let kids meet the horses or help divot stomp! After play is done for the day, the field is a great place for kite flying, and there are beautiful hikes all around the park.
By the way, chukkers are the 7 1/2 minute periods of play. Now you know.
Make sure to check the Will Rogers Polo calendar before you go to ensure that there is a game on the day you plan to visit.
